Formed in 1971, the NFTC is the foremost film revenue collection and monitoring agency operating from the United Kingdom. The NFTC has a unique legal and financial structure. All monies are held on trust giving protection from insolvency or closure of the producer or any other parties, changes in ownership of the film or the NFTC's own affairs.  Its ultimate holding company is the UK Film Council who are in turn owned by the UK Government.

It operates with the twin purposes of:

  • disbursing revenue in the order that has been agreed by all parties to the NFTC's Collection agreement

  • providing an efficient, independent and ongoing revenue collection service for feature film financiers, producers and third party beneficiaries with a financial interest in the exploitation of a film.
